I was approached by some collectors, asking if I would be interested in painting a bird from our province of Ontario. I had always wanted to paint a Ruby Throated Hummingbird, so it was a perfect match! The three pointed trinity-knot, called a triquetra, had personal meaning, but I also realized that its shape was like a trillium flower, Ontario’s emblem.
